Default Sputhe rear stabilizer install

I got my rear stabilizer today and SURPRISE there are no instructions in the box.... I seem to have this kind of crap happen on a normal basis. Anyway I have been searching and can't find any actual instructions, there is one write up, but it doesn't go into detail

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/8302895-post11.html

Who has installed this? I know it's a pain in the *** but honestly seems like a pretty straight forward install. My questions are: The two "pinch bolts" on the bottom bracket, do I just need to run them out until they contact the frame and then snug down the jam nuts? Or am I using them to adjust side to side?

Also the actual link, am I just adjusting that out until it lines up with the 2 bolts or again am I trying to move side to side? Lastly if I'm just lining up the link with the two bolts, am I doing this with the bike in the air? Can I do it on the ground on the kickstand? Thanks for any advice fellas

Yea that's the same one I saw. It doesn't really go into detail tho. I have one bolt partially out of the top of the rear isolator and the transmission is sagging even with a jack under it. The bolt is cockeyed, halfway out. I don't want to pull it all the way out but also I can't get it to line back up or get it in. I realize that probably doesn't make any sense

yes tighten the jam nuts to the frame, then tighten the nuts to "lock" it tight. Yes turn out the turn buckle till the two holes line up. You can do it on jiffy stand. Best to put a block under it. Keep it as straight up as you can. Best to have someone help you. One person on each side of the bike. Use a jack under the engine& tranny.

Thanks gadianton3. And thank you 07bohber that's exactly what I was looking for. Did you do the install on your sputhe? I couldn't get the top 3" bolts to line up right. I don't want to force the new bolts in the because there's no nuts on the other side anymore, they thread directly into the bracket. Looks like if everything doesn't line up right it will be easy to cross thread. I put my stock bolts back in it, think I'm gonna wait til I can get it on a lift

I know it when I called the first time to just get business hours at 8:30pm he answered from his house. I figured I'd let him have his weekend and I'll call him Monday to pick his brain. I'll post back when I get it on. Thanks again to everyone who responded
