Purchased a PCV (from a forum member) and am trying to load a PCIII map on it for my '07 SB (stage 1 a/c, v&h short shots w/quiet baffles). I had read that this could be done but, I'm having some trouble loading.
Thanks for any help. You guys have been great with the advice!!
The New Power Commander V compatible with 2009 and newer bike models. The latest software and maps can be found at www.powercommander.com
The PCV maps are not the same as the PCIII maps. Load a map that has a .pvm file
extension only
Maybe this will help
You can not use PC lll maps on a PCV. You need to find a PCV map for your set-up.
As far as the retrofit kit they are selling I think they are just saying that to stop the questions since PC says they are 09+. On the Dynas anyway maybe some others do require something.
When I bought mine and talked to them they said nothing of it needing retrofitted and said it would work fine on my 08. A few months later they started saying they were retrofitting them.

Are you sure the wiring harness of the 09+ aren't a little different? Judging by the pic of the pcV on any site the plugs for the 09+ are not like the '08 plug, but it is the same pcV
Anyhow bberc is abso right you need pcV specific maps as the pcV's have more options therefore different software is required.
Yeah, the pcIII and the pcV have different file extensions. The pcV won't "read" the ones I'm trying to load. I've emailed FuelMoto, I'll post what I find out...

Cant say for sure but my PCV looked straight from the factory, it sure didnt look like anything was changed on it.
I also asked Jamie when I bought mine if the plugs were different and he said no.
