Default timing cover install

when putting a new timing cover on a bob, do you need a different gasket than the stock one like you do when you put on a different derby cover. if so, soes anyone have the part number for the gasket i would need?

thanks

I believe that it does take a different gasket. If you go to the H-D website and brouse through the parts section and find the cover that you have,... it will also list the needed gasket under the item.

are you talking about the little round cover or the whole thing??? If its the little round cover there is no gasket there. if your bike is fairly new you should be able to reuse the same gasket for the actual timing cover. Just inspect it and make sure it isnt torn or anything like that.

if it s a 06 u dont need a gasket for the cover.my cam case cover has no hole threw it ,to the timing cover,so its more for just decorative then anything on the new dynas.iam not for sure what model you have.but if it dont have a hole threw your cam case then you dont need a gasket.if it has a hole threw the cam case then you do.
