Default Hooker Pipes

I found a set of Hooker Rebel 80" pipes that say they will fit '91-05 Dynas. Does anybody know what it would take to mount these on an '07 DWG? All they have is a stock photo which does not tell me anything.

Good question. Up to 05, they had a 5spd tranny which I think is physically smaller. If the price is right...give it a shot. People are always trying to fit pipes designed for other years. Some are successful. Some are not.

06 and above have 6spd tranny that sticks out just a tad more.

Had not thought of that. After posting I realized that the o2 port would have to be "added". I've heard of others using older slip-ons that fit but leery about a full system, especially since the ebay store has a no return policy.

OK, just went to the Holly site, http://www.holley.com/27917-3HKR.asp, and they actually have the same pipes for a 96" for $12 less, still says for '87-05 so the width might be OK but probably still does not have the o2 port. I will give them a call to verify and post the answer, should anybody care to know.

You can have an o2 bung welded on for a few bucks. No major cost there. Or you can use the PCIII with it's o2 eliminators which would negate the use of o2 sensors in the headpipes..... equals a cleaner install.

The major problem with using 91-05 pipes on later bikes is that the oil filler is in a different place from 06-present. On some pipes (V&H Big Radius, for one), the bend in the rear cylinder pipes passes far enough over the dipstick that you can't get it out.

The WG pictured is definitely an 05 or older...notice rear turn signal placement. 06+ the signals are at the very end of the strut cover.

if the price of the pipes is good enough to at least try...go for it. The worst that happens is you throw them up on ebay and take a small hit on resale.

I have the same dilemma to look forward to when I do my pipe swap this winter. I got me a set of Hooker Troublemakers for the same model years ('01-'05 I believe) and I have an '07 Low Rider. From all info gathered so far me having the PCV and the O2 eliminators negates that problem. My only other issue is supposed to be that I may have to grind down the pipe mount so that it mounts properly. I'll know a lil more when I get ready for the install and start asking those that have down the install some questions. But to answer your question....yes, it is possible and a hell of a deal. You'll want to get the PCV, if you dont have it already anyways so that you can map your bike yourself and get it to run less lean than it is now. Go for it.
