Grape ape came about the day I was picking up my new bike. Hubby took it for its first ride and as he circled around the parking lot, the sales guy, referring to the cobalt color, made a comment about him riding a big grape -- I said "yea, he's a grape ape". Goofy, I know. But it stuck in my head.
