man i have lit up over 50 bikes! i have all my pods custom made for my shop. the trick is to hand possition all of them, we even make brackets to get the most light out of each of them, if you ask anyone we ride with... the diff of light kits I have installed next to others is night and day... here are a few:
what happens after you lay candy paint on the bike then light it up... ooh ya buddy!
I tend to agree......accent lights on a Harley never did it for me either but it's all about what YOU like......I also feel that way about full face helmets on Harleys (except for the hard core touring guys) But what do I know.....it's just what I think.
The list would be a mile long and nobody would agree on what IS Harley and what isn't. I don't care for the lights either but then there are a lot of things I see on bikes that I don't care for. And I'm not naive enough to think my bike fits everyone else's tastes either.
I have installed over 1000 light kits on bikes. All of the stuff was bought at Custom Dynamics. This has been a while back though. Placement is everything. And some folks who do the lighting kits, don't always use the best materials. Your bike may look good for a few eeks. But, first rain storm you go through sometimes will knpock some out of service, and makes the bike look crappy. I never lit m,y bike up, but did friends for free as long as they were available during local rallys. There are some kits out there that are junk . Ask questions about wire routing and such. If they run wires that have to be removed just to service the bike, then run Forrest run. Make sure all connection are either soldered or have good weather proof plugs. Hope that helps
agreed 100% i solder everything a typical install takes about 3-4 hours to do a 15 pod kit and do it right... i like it so that you do not see the lights at all, just their effects... 15 pods is plenty to really light up the front wheel, entire bike, rear wheel, and still add some ground lighting
