Hot engine
I just swapped out my stock pipes with Vance and Hines big radius pipes. My bike is a 2010 wide glide with 600 miles on it. After I swapped out the pipes I fired it up to hear it, and within 20 seconds the motor and pipes got really hot. I realize I have to map out the ecm, but 20 seconds didnt seem like it would do much harm. Any thouhts??
If you only changed the pipes and not the air cleaner then the ecm will adjust the afr on it's own, and you could not have damaged the engine in twenty seconds ,unless you fired a rocket at it. Twenty seconds is plenty of time for the pipes to get burning hot,the heat shields follow shortly thereafter.
