Default superbrace question

I just got my superbrace in the mail in looking at the instructions it says to loosen axle pinch bolts, why would you have to do this ?

When I installed mine I called tech support to ask them that very question. They told me not to worry about it so i didn't. I have not had any problems with it other than not being able to tell the difference between having and not having it installed.

I just slapped it on. Just making sure it was below the dust caps was the only slight challenge. Seems like they could have put a little more arc in it to facilitate that, but its all good.

This was a point I brought up a while back. IMO those with 49mm forks probably don't need it. The ones with 39 & 41mm probably see the most improvement. I will not buy one.

If the brace doesn't quite fit around the forks, then loosing the axle pinch bolts may allow you to spread/squeeze the forks enough to match the brace.

My brace fit perfectly, but I have to agree with many others here that the brace was the worst use of my mod $$$, no benefit to me. They seem to benefit many older bikes and perhaps those with worn forks.
