puttin a alarm on my stepdads 98 dyna.. is there a easier place to tap on the ignition wire besides pulling the enitre ignition off?

 

Going on a bit of memory here.
Take your power directly from the main fuse box.
The incomming from the main fuse is the red, other wires do go back and feed the fuse box from the ignition, it is not good practice to use these as you may pick one that is only activated when the ignition is on. You need to take it from the other side of the fuse (15 Amp) and the wire colour should be a (brown / grey) with a red as the main supply.
