happened to mine several times. welded it and it still broke.

Yes, my TH bracket also broke.
I 'fixed' it by throwing the works in the dumpster.

As a matter of fact i'm on hear with the exact same problem with my 96 convertible. Torn rear rubber mount snapped two studs off. I too am looking for info regarding best and/or cheapest way to attack the problem, so don't feel lonley. If i find out any info that could be useful to you i will pass it along.

I would buy a new one and weld on more support. My bike is rubber mounted so it shakes quite a bit more and I've broke mine 3 times. There is just no support on them for dynas. They are going to break some time or another.

I notice on the one they sell now for mine,1180a,has a plate welded on across the curves.

A friend of mine had his break. Thunderheader sent him a new one for free. I haven't broken mine yet but it's the new style with the extra support. You should call them and ask if you can buy or get for free a newly designed one.
