just mocked up a set of trees from v-twin. nice workmanship on these and not that expensive. the prices have gone up a bit since boskens post. you'll also have to think about what your going to do with the front wheel. stock wheel with spacers, wideglide hub or new wheel. it could be anywhere from hundreds to over $1000.

There is lots of info on this site about these conversions. WS6 Formula provides great details in his posts.

As mentioned above, there are several variables which will determine how much it will cost you. Are you going to use your OEM wheel or buy a WG wheel? Will you install WG sliders or use your current sliders and custom spacers?

I recently did this on an 06 Super Glide. I was able to sell a lot of my old front end to cushion the expense. The parts would have cost me about $800.00 out of pocket without selling my old stuff.

New WG aftermarket trees $315.00
HD WG chrome sliders $100.00
Used WG wheel and tire +/- $150.00
HD WG axle $60.00
HD WG chrome axle spacers $25.00
Fender spacers and hardware $30.00
Seals, o-rings, fluid $40.00

Is it better to use a wg wheel? As or the sliders.. can you just keep the ones that are on there already added chrome ones?

Your current sliders won't work with the WG wheel (on a WG front end) unless you use custom spacers on the caliper. The caliper mounting position is different on the WG sliders.

If you use a 19" or 21" mid glide wheel, you will need custom spacers for the wheel and for the caliper or rotor.

I felt it best to use the WG wheel and WG sliders and not mess with a bunch of spacers. You can always sell your mid glide sliders and recoop some of the cost of the new ones. I found new WG chrome sliders for $100.00.

Most any information you want on this mod can be found with a search. I spent a lot of time researching and reading here before I started buying parts.

Here's a couple of photos (before and after). Added 2* Wide Glide triple clamps, a Wide Glide 21" wheel, and 12" Low Profile Touring shocks. Original Low Rider triple clamps are 1 1/2*, so I only increased the rake a 1/2*.
more info below.

Here's what I used: 2006 Wide Glide parts; 21" wheel, upper and lower triple clamps, axle, axle spacers.

From a hardware store: 3/4" chrome spacers and 3/4" longer then original stainless Allen head bolts for mounting the fender, and stainless washers for shimming (.040" for the caliper & .090" for the rotor) to center the caliper over the rotor.

Use other existing hardware from your bike (axle nut and washer, triple clamp pinch bolts, head bearings nuts and washer, fender nuts, forks, etc.).

I bought the parts from zanotti's back in June of 06.

Here are the Harley Davidson part numbers and Zanotti prices:
P/N 46700-06 upper triple clamp.....$ 65.75
P/N 46386-06 lower triple clamp....$139.83
P/N 40923-06 front axle..................$ 28.39
P/N 40926-06 rh/frt spacer.............$ 4.58
P/N 40927-06 lh/frt spacer.............$ 4.58
total..$243.13

Update: 4/3/08
Axle spacers above are also available in a chrome tapered version P/N 41410-06 chrome tapered front wheel spacer kit $23.51

Original Wide Glide tire replaced with only 7,300 miles on it (not much tread left). Replaced it with a Avon Venom AM41 90/90-21, widest tire (3.70") I could find that will fit the Wide Glide aluminum profile rim.
