First, install the software on your laptop.

Second, fire up the software program and open up the calibration map you want to load.

Third, locate the data uplink port in the fuse box.

Fourth, connect the data cables to the laptop and the bike.

Fifth, turn the ignition and run switch on but do not start the bike.

Sixth, go the File and Program ECM.

Seventh, Push the Get ECM Info button to ensure the laptop and ECM are talking to each other.

Eighth, Push the Program ECM Cal button and let the map load into the ECM.

All of that is spelled out in the SERT manual, just take the time to read it and you'll be fine. If you have COM port issues just follow the directions in the manual to sort them out.

Good luck.

Would suggest you "play" with the Data Mode first. This allows you to see that the SERT is talking fine with the ECM and can see how it collects data, etc. Would do this before installing any new hardware (pipe's, AC). Collect data and store it, gives you a baseline.

When in the Tuning Mode, be sure to hit the "Get ECM Information" button before programing (makes sure the SERT is talking to the ECM). Would also recommend to name the file (Map) with the date you've downloaded (for Example, "Map downloaded July 21 2006") - this way you can look in the folder on your laptop and see the different filenames / maps that you've downloaded.

Also, keep in mind that once you download a map, there's no way of going back to the orginal Stock map (dealer would have to reprogram).

Congratulations clay. You're gonna be happy with the race tuner.

Cobra and ultra lay it out there real nice.

Software comes with a bunch of maps. You can pick one close to your setup.

I didn't go that route, another member emailed a few maps.

tryed one, night and day from the dealer download.

The next one was a fine tune up from the first.

I believe my motor is very similar to your configuration.

Mine runs like a cat with it's tail on fire now,
and it is very smooth throughout the entire rpm range.

Really amazing how easy it is to reconfigure with the race tuner.

390 at my dealer after my senior discount.

I didn't shop around. Didn't know about Zanotti then,
probably cheaper there, and maybe other sources as well.

Check around jayson. Post back what you find.

This will get you started. It is a slightly older version but basically the same. https://www.hdforums.com/m_222256/tm.htm

Once you figure out how to upload a map to your bike, send me a PM and I'll send you a good map for '06 Dynas.
