Got my 07 FXDB used with no manual, etc. Was pleasantly surprised to discover a clock function in the odometer today while resetting mileage after a fill up. Figured out how to set it so all there is good.
But this got me thinking - any other little surprises out there? The 82 FXRS this bike replaced was pretty simple and the 09 FLHTC next to it in the garage has alls kinds of stuff but all pretty visible and labeled. Since the FLHTC has a clock in the radio, the "extra" odo function is a miles remaining til empty thing.
So are there other secret functions anywhere I need to check for - concealed weaponry, smoke/oil dispensers to foil tailgaters, underwater navigation and breathing apparatus?
Had mine for a year now, and haven't found anything else out yet...although I suppose if you wrap your pipes, they'll smoke for a while, albeit not enough to make a clean getaway...
Service manual was the first thing I bought once I brought the bike home. Never really found enough use for the owners manual to justify the cost. I like the way Ford handles it - you can d/l the complete owners manual in pdf format for free.

On my FXD2003 turn switches are used to enter a personal code to disarm the security system.....
This code is used to disarm the vehicle in case the key fob is not functioning.
Man How do you set up clock? I looked in manual, and doesn't even show how to retrieve engine codes, mine is a 06.
Fumbled my way through this at the gas station so this may not be 100% accurate, but close
I hit the reset/change button on the side to switch from A to B odo then hit it again and got "12:00". Might have been flashing - don't recall. I pressed and held the button and first it offered me "12h" and "24h". Clicked back to 12h since I don't do military time.
Next I pressed and held the button in. 12 started flashing, so I let go and started clicking the button. Got 1, 2, 3, etc - you get the idea. Once I had the correct hour I pressed and held and minutes started flashing. Did the same thing til I got the right time and bingo! Bob's yer uncle.
