Is there any logical reason my dealer would recommend going +10 on clutch/throttle/idle cables when I'm going from stock Mini Apes to 12.5 Wild1 Chubbies???? It's nice to have room to wiggle, I guess, but, won't I have cable flapping all over the place??? This is what they recommended to my wife (and she purchased) for my birthday present.
Also, any clue as to how long I need for my brakeline? Going stainless.
Seems to me that if you're installing 2" over bars you would need 2" over cables. But, to be honest I really don't know, I'm just now starting my parts list for my apes.

I agree. After getting off the phone with another local dealer, they were laughing at going +10. I almost think the original dealer was f***ing with my wife. I'm returning them and exchanging for +4 or +6, given that I'm going a bit wider on these bars too.
Hey Whiff, I would think that you would be ok with the stock length. I just got +6 on all my cables and for 16" apes. Don't pay for what you don't have to. The stealers aren't so helpful with that one.
Do any of you who have installed Apes (12 or higher) have any pics of your brakeline setup? I'm trying to get an idea of how you [or your dealer] did yours.

I've got 14". Here are some pics of my brakeline setup. The line is about the same diameter as the throttle/idle cables.
Thanks, dude. I can't tell from the picture, but, did you re-use that bent metal line that was originally attached to the trees? Or was something else rigged up? It seems to me I could just run one length of line from the resevoir to the rotor and get rid of that thing attached to my trees (sorry, don't have the manual in front of me to use the correct terminology).
