Anyone ever have any Brass Plating done to parts on their Dyna? I'm curious how expensive it is to have it done. I've done a little research on the net and read that parts can be powder coated clear after the plating process which would be nice to reduce wear and preserve the desired level of tarnishing. I have read that some plating processes can cause certain metals to become more brittle, but I do think it would look nice to have the triple trees, cylinder heads, rear struts, shock covers etc. Not that I would want to plate everything on the bike, but certain parts to be used to accent the theme.
The only thing that I don't quite have my mind set on is that I don't want the plated parts to be real shiny. It would be nice to have them with a semi-dull patina and have them powdered clear afterwards to keep them that way....so they don't look new and shiny and I wouldn't have to use Brasso on them
I checked into solid brass hand grips and they are WAY too expensive for what they are. I'm not expecting to get by on the cheap, but there's not a lot of brass items available. I am considering looking on ThomasNet.com to find a local plater, but I wanted to get an idea of what to expect as far as cost goes.
Any constructive input is appreciated!

I dont have any info on brass plating but as far as solid brass stuff, you may think about having them made. For the grips, maybe get some 1 ź stock, have em turned down and knurled and use set screws to mount them. For the throttle, you might be able to get away with a throttle tube and mounting the brass onto it.
Ive got a 2x12 brass bar stock sitting at my desk right now waiting for me to chuck it up and turn it down into risers. I just have a few other projects I have to finish up first.
You can get the bar stock off Ebay for pretty cheap. 2x12 was $65
