Hey all,
Trying to do a clip on handle bar mod on a fat bob. Thanks to the rare 49mm fork tubes i am having a hard time finding a set that will fit. Does any one know where a guy can find an exact 49mm clip on set?
Thanks in advance
man i posted a link so long ago for this! i was going to cafe my bob but then i built a cafe instead... they make them, i know my FZR has 38 mm and those are reg tubes look at the GSXR they have 49mm fork tubes so they should work no problme you will jut have to shave off the stop bump on the clipon but that is easy. either that or tap a small hole under your upper tree and use the lock clip to hold the bar in place... love this idea! rear sets and bump stop seat in the works as well?
Well so far i found a company that can custom make the clip ons that will be a direct fir to the 49mm forks, plus they will make 1'' bars. I will def. post picks once this project is finished. Thanks for the support!
Cheers
I had some really low bars sitting on my stock risers. I looked badass, but it made my hands go number after a while. I have to have my hands up in the air apparently. It really bothers me having my hands sitting low.
Either go with a custom set, or go with one of these above and run 7/8" controls rather than 1". There are a lot cooler grips, perches, and levers for 7/8" bars anyway. This could give you a chance to clean the buttons off the handlebars, go with some real slick levers and even upgrade to a crotch rocket master cylinder/dual brake setup. (I realize this is much more involved than what you had in mind, but it would be Sweet!)
Edit: See, this is what I'm talking about. This 7/8" clutch/master cylinder is made for a dual disc setup on a rocket. F'ing Beautiful.
Just curious, where are you wanting to mount the clip-ons? Below the top tree? I've seen several bikes with the tubes pushed up through the top tree about an inch with the clip-ons mounted on the upper section of the tube. Looks killer and drops your front end some for Free.
