Default Need one inch

I got the bars on and internally wired on my bike (12"Apes) just waiting on cables to finish up. My question is, has any one skipped running the wires down through the tripple tree in order to gain some extra line. I need about an extra inch in order for the molex clips to sit further down in the neck insted of right at the opening. Does anyone see any potential problems with doing this?

Mine aren't run through the tree. They come right out from the base of the bars and into the neck.
