Default Cerebral Flatulence

Took a Wide Glide ride today; my #2 bro along on my Road King. He needed a wizz stop, so we pulled in to a rails-to-trails trailhead that had pottys. I pulled into the blacktop parking slot with my front tire up to the curb, killed the engine, and found first so it wouldn't roll back (slight incline). As I leaned it left to dismount, too late did I realize I hadn't put the jiffy down!

I guided it down onto the left grip, hoping to spare the tank (no damage). The forward and mid pegs seem to have spared the derby. Didn't bend or break the lever, perch or mirror, but I think I either bent/shifted the left bar riser-bolt...not sure. Anyway, no one but my bro saw my embarrassment. Still wondering how this brain-fart occurred; that's the part that bugs me most.

I regret say I got distracted and forgot to put my jiffy stand down on my Sportster (previous bike). It fell in the driveway. I had an engine guard on it, so the only damage to the bike was a bent lever and a scratched muffler. I hope this one experience cured me. I know I'm very careful now (two years later) to put the stand down!

I was out riding with a bunch of buddies going to a little meet up, I got off the bike and didn't put the stand all the way down. Luckily, I managed to keep it up. Few of the guys said the bike was past 45 degress, and they were surprised I caught it!

That wont happen again!

Dang Patrick, guess now you'll have to buy a new one

Glad the only time that happened to me I was in my garage so no one could see! Glad the only damage was to your pride!

I won't feel offended if, on our next ride, you shout "Jiffy!" each time we stop!

I don't know why, but I have this habit of forgetting to turn the bike off before I let the clutch out when I'm parking the bike... Luckily a quick stall isn't too embarasing
