So, I've been getting a lot of man-time lately to work on my bike. I am unemployed which means I get to stay home with my daughter.
1- addressed nasty vibe issue due to true track install. resolved: shimmed the front isolator. TT should really update their install instructions to advise.
2- painting my tins...that is still in progress.
3-moved my turn signals back to the controls. Something very 'harley' about their stock placement. I do have a spare left-side mount if anyone wants to relocate their turn signals to the forks. It does keep them nice and tight to the forks. I dislike the h-d front signal relocate option.
4- Front end issues w/ ricor intiminators installed. Ride was VERY rough and clunky. Resolved: removed shortened spacer; installed stock spacer; replaced amsoil 10w syn fork oil with oem type e 5w. Front end felt a lot better.
4a- re: forks: I did make a fork clamp for a vise. I'll definitely post pics of that. Cost me $1.50... 2 - 2" pipe/conduit clamps at the hardware store.
I'll post pics later on.
In doing the front signal re-relocate I did snap one of the novello connectors. Nothing a little solder and heat shrink couldn't fix.
I feel ya with the Man-Time! Last year I worked in January, got laid-off, took a job in mid-july, worked till nov, and haven't worked since. The first stint of unemployment was the hardest, that was the most time I've had off since I started working in 1988. This time I'm enjoying it MUCH more!

+1 on the turn signals! On a Harley they belong on the bars.
Tony...with all your different sig pics more importantly the content of those pics, I really need to ride down to ATL to party with you. It's only a 6hr ride.
I have found that man time is expensive! I am currently laid off so I figured what better time than now to build up the engine agian....Well, I think I am now $1400 over budget While the man time is really nice, its also really expensive!
While I'm sorry to hear about your unemployment it's got to be great to get some time with your daughter!
Out of my own experience I can tell you that it's real important to try to keep yourself busy with something, I spent 2 months at home last year and it was real rough on me I must admit.
While I might be quite young, I've still worked pretty much since I was 15 years old, I had a real hard time adjusting, I felt restless.

I'm the same way. When I'm working I don't have time to spend any money, then I make up for it real fast.

Absolutely. If it wasn't for losing my job I would have missed my daughter taking her first steps. It can be trying, but overall I love my time with my daughter.
I have plenty to keep me busy. She's 19mos old and man does she get around.
