So I bought my Dyna this Christmas 09 FXDC. Not long after that I found my way to Afghanistan. I am wanting to put 8 inch T bars on it and wrap my pipes in a black wrap. I have looked at a few websites but being this my first bike I wanted to seek some advice first.
I was planning to wrap the pipes on my Sporty but I backed off after reading several negative posts about it.
Apparently wrapping the pipes promotes rust and severly reduces the life span of the pipes.
Several guys posted that they had to replace their pipes within two years of wrapping them because the pipes rusted through or cracked due to excessive heat.
I dont know about you but I don't have the cash to replace pipes every couple years.
the t-bars will do wonders for handling. with 8"s the stock cables should work just fine. check out www.bungking.com for t-bars and other cool dyna parts. i recommend upgrading to urethane bushings for the bars too.
