Default Spare Key

So I just got my 04 super glide and I'm in need of a spare key. Obviously I'm going to have to go to a harley dealer to get one but can anyone tell me a basic price or process it is (I say process because for my old Yamaha they wanted me to mail it out somewhere). Thanks in advance!

If I remember correctly, it was like 15 canadian for a key, but you had to order a minium of 2 keys. You order the key, and a couple weeks later you'll get it.

****, i went to my local lock smith got my tumbler key duped' for 20 bucks

hd wants like 45- 50 dollars for a replacement and you have a 3-6 week wait.

Go to a locksmith, a place that cuts keys.. Show it to them. Let them tell ya if they can do it or not..

You'll be suprised what these guys can or cant do.

Dont ever believe them when they say they cant cut it..

It just means the keys are regulated or licensed... And they arent authorized to make it... Doesnt mean they cant make them

I had a dealer in N.C. cut a key for my Dyna in about 10 min. do not remember the cost, but I know I would not have paid more then $15 for a key.

You got ripped, Crzylggs. Through HD spare keys for my used Dyna (you have to order 2) were around $22. Took 7 calendar/5 business days. Only thing that bugs me a little is that they don't come with the black plastic covers over the top.

Danzyg1, slip the black plastic thing up and you'll find a key code etched into the key. Either that or your VIN will get you the correct spare keys through your dealer.

If you can find a local who can/will cut it, great. But the MoCo really isn't bad about this.

Default Spare Key

Pull the rubber/plastic cap off the key and you will see the number for the key. I had to order a spare for mine as the the original got bent. Took about 3 weeks and was about $30.00 I think.
