Gotta ask.... Would you use this kit if you were going to convert to a rigid frame (in case that the bike got wrecked and you wanted to use your drivetrain for a custom build)??? Mine is an evo..

Why not just get a "B" engine from a soft tail?
Mount it in your Dyna frame and you can....

My first Harley was a sporty 883L which I got new. As it broke in it got smoother but at hiway speeds the shaking was so bad it numbed my hands. I traded the sporty for a new Heritage softail (remember the promotion Harley had with buying a new sporty, ride for a year, trade it for a big twin...) I decided on the Heritage after trying a couple of new dynas. The much smoother counter balanced engine was a selling point for me. However...the dyna's uncluttered basic looks are very attractive. The super glide is kind of a sporty on steroids (yes... I loved my sporty, shakes and all...), has a 6th gear, more power. Probably will get one as a second bike and was researching what can be done to minimize the shakes. S&S balanced flywheels are sold as complete units with the rods, dynamically balanced. It would make sense to get the pistons balanced at the same time, that is, get the whole enchilada. In theory that would make for a smoother engine. Pricey though...

Your Evo is balanced originally, it has cast flywheels and is easy to balance each time it is rebuilt. If your engine ran fine before the wreck and wasn't physically damaged it should be fine in a rigid frame.

You do know you can't mount a "B" engine in a dyna or an FL frame, or any of the Evo softail frames, right?
