Question 14 " Apes

Wanting to put 14" apes on my 2009 Super Glide. Can't decide between the Z-Bars from Road 6 Customs or the standard 14 " apes sold at the Harley dealership. Anyone have any suggestions for quality comfortable 14" apes?

The HD units are solid. Really well made. If you like them, you're safe that way. I don't like the Z-Bars, but that's a cosmetic issue, as I've never had 'em due to the appearance. Damn near everybody makes 14" apes, and they're mostly pretty decent, so check price and appearance, and if the price is close to the HD units, then the bars are probably okay.

I am partial to the R6C bars. I have a set on my Nightster. Very good welds, good knurling, predrilled and dimpled. If you buy a set check the internal welds seams, they were sharp and could've eventually cut into the new wires ( they need to be filed down). Great bars for the $. I am 5'8" and I have 14's. They put my hands at the 12" position, which is just below my shoulders. I did keep the stock riser/speedo. If you haven't yet looked, check out the R6C customer's bikes. That may help your decision http://road6customs.com/customers-rides/

I have road six 16"s on mine........I absolutly love them, and get tons of thumbs up on them. unique look, lots of positives...........TOTAL COMFORT!!!! I will never go back to drag bars, I'm only 5'5" tall, but with the sweep that the road sixes have they are soooooo comfy to ride with.

I just installed a set of black 14" apes from drag specialties...they ran about $87.00...
