There are actually multiple plugs on some bikes that are just chilling, because there are only two different wiring harnesses from the factory. So if you bike, as stated, is domestic, and does not have security, those are two examples of plugs that will be there, but unused.

Sorry, guess I wasn't clear. You'd be very hard pressed to find my pigtail as well without tracing it from the battery. When not it use it tucks up behind the fuel line qd, completely invisible.

What goes over the seat is the line from the battery tender/wall outlet to the pigtail. That's cause the way I park the outlet is on the right side of the bike and the pigtail on the left. Added benefit is that the cord from the outlet doesn't hit the hot exhaust, although I expect that's pretty high temp insulation on those wires so not likely to melt. Still, better safe than sorry.

On the Electra Glide the pigtail's on the right since the wiring for the GPS on that bike is hardwired under the fairing.
