Default Wheels

Looking for a good place to get custom wheels for the Low Rider, not crazy about spock wheels.

Thanks for the site. As my b/f calls it my "pretty parts" list is growing by the day.

Ok, found a wheel I like but the guy told me that I could replace the 19" with 21" with low profile tire and it would handle the curves better. I do a lot of back road riding.

Any opinions??

i doubt that. seems like on sharp turns having some extra contact via the sidewall would be better. low pro tire mean less sidewall. then again, having less sidewall flex might make it a little more stable... i would guess its a wash. the low profile tire would have to have 1" less sidewall (all around) in order to avoid contacting the fender. has anyone done this? replaced a 19 with a 21 wihtout relocating the fender. sounds cool..

I did that change on a WG that I had, what I found that the 21 steered a bit faster, but the 19 rode better and really no sacrifice over the 21 in any respect. I just didn't like the small amount of rubber between the rim and the road in case of a pot hole encounter. The difference between the two is minimal, maybe 3/8 of an inch or so, with the 19 being shorter. Best way I can describe the shorter 19 is that if you look across the tire under the fender , you can just about see past the tire out the other side unlike the 21 where you cannot.

Talked with a few riders in our HOG club and a few of them have done the change as well and they said that they thought the 21" handled a little better and looked a lot nicer. Just wanted to get some feed back before I did anything.

THANKS!
