I own a 2006 Dyna Wide glide which is fuel injected. Over the past two weeks or so it has been running terrible when cold. It seems as if it is running too lean, misfiring through the intake, bad hesitation on acceleration, popping through exhaust system while down shifting. Once warm the performance improves although gas mileage is not good. For some reason it seems to get worse once I am below a half tank of fuel. Any help would be appreciated

+1 with what Sniper said, also, do you run Ethanol E10? Has the bike been sitting for a while? Been reading more about Ethanol and how it tends to absorb moisture into the gas when sitting for a while.

I had the same issues with my 06 fuel injected Street Bob. Harley said there was a service bulletin on the fuel injectors and they replaced them for free. But, it's something you have to ask them about. They don't notify you. Also, needed an intake gasket for the popping. Still wasn't totally fixed. Found that the fuel pressure on the fuel rail was low, caused by a leaking O-ring on a gas line in the tank. Of course, Harley says you have to buy the whole line, can't buy just the O-ring. Went to the local auto parts store and got a whole assortment for 3 bucks. Much better now.
