If anything, my understanding is that the dynamic compression ratio could be decreased a little due to increase in overlap of Int/Exh of the replacement cams ....

What am I missing ...?
I there,
I am looking at putting the 583 sns am into my bike Is there any problème with the original valve spring? Does it need to be replaced or original part are OK?

Tx for the response

I just ordered some and installing tommorow.
+1 on the 583's. Great all around cam. I did the quickee pushrods and new lifters from S&S. I've been running it all summer. The bike should run like this from the factory. I also did the powervision which helped dial the bike in further. I had a fuelpak at first and I spots in the throttle where the bike fell flat. Good luck and check runout at crank pinion shaft. Should be below .030 or stick with chain drive.

S&s hp 103 cams, S&s premium lifters, head work , compression set at 10.2., 30 tooth power pulley. 100 - 100 club. Good to go.

I installed 583 ezy starts on my 103 build, love them.

Something Dynojet and V&H DONT tell you.... Auto tune isn't an option on modded cams using just the standard tuner alone, you need the wide band add ons to Autotune Cams.

My only regret is using an FP3 instead of the PowerVision and a dyno tune, or forsake the dyno tune and get the Target tune option to be able to Auto tune with the modded cams.

Just to clarify, nothing wrong with the FP3, it just turns out that finding a Dyno shop on this side of the Pond that can/will tune with an FP3 is akin to finding Rocking Horse poop...

I wanted more passing power on 2 lane roads and got it with the 583G cams. also added the S&S 97/106 kit and pv1. very happy with the results, never any problem starting but I keep a battery tender on whenever I'm not riding.

I know H-D 211's have good low end torque and lots of guys on here love the Woods cams. I'm sure they will speak up about YOUR decision.
What bike? Stats?

Chart states 583*
