surging or sputtering
So I've been riding for a couple of weeks now with my new drag pipes. Love the sound. Did notice a big drop in power. Mostly when accelerating. I did put in torque cones. No baffles...yet. One thing I did notice is that it is hard to keep a steady speed without the bike sounding like it almost has a miss or it's surging. Sometimes get a little cough out the carb, but that to me is normal. When I let off the throttle and go to roll back int it it kinda hesitates and "gargles" then clears up. I try to cruise thru toen at about 30mph and I can't. Bike likes to surge or I have to be in second and still sounds funky. I did put in a 42 pilot jet and a 175 main when I put the pipes on. Got a little yellowing on the pipes, but thats all. Idle sems okay. pms is at 2 1/2 turns. Needle is shimmed with two washers. Did not drill out slide. Many friends have told me to NOT do that. Is my surging problem in the jetting or caused by the pipes? I'm kinda used to it by now, but if it can be fixed, that would be awesome.

have you looked into lollipops, that is a eye bolt with a washer welded on, installed a few inches before end of pipe they usually provide some back pressure to exhaust which is what your lacking with no baffles, also try increasing pilot jet to 46-48, and main to 190
