Exclamation 6" Riser Movement???????

Hello, I am in the middle of installing some night train bars on my 2010 Wide Glide. I purchased some 6" risers from J&P. I have them installed and as tight as I can get them and when I turn the handle bars the risers move slightly the direction I am turning. Is this normal?

Thanks for the help!

+1 Try replacing the rubber riser bushings with polyurethane bushings. It will firm up the risers and get rid of the flex problems you are having. You may get a little more vibration in the bars at idle but off idle it will smooth out.

Try a 1/4" shorter Bolt............The risers are not drilled and tapped the same as HD. I think you are bottoming out the bolt before you get the risers properly tightened.

Damn, didn't you read the instructions..............OK, they left that part out.

Thanks for the info, Where can I get the poly bushings?

I bought bolt size that J&P recommended for the risers.

I hated the sloppy feel of the stock rubber bushings on my bike so when we swapped bars we also put in the poly bushings. Ahhh much better and I notice no extra vibration, just a solid feel.

I'm riding out of town this Sunday, so I am going first thing in the morning to pick up some poly bushings at my local dealer. I hope they have them in stock!!!

Oh just to brag a little, the Night Train bars look sick on my Wide Glide!
