I have an 08 SB that I normally run pretty stripped down with just a bare bones solo seat. Longer rides I like to use my Mustange Vintage Solo and the standard mustang p-pad for the wife. I'm wanting to increase my comfort by adding a drivers backrest but it seems that the only mustang seats to include those are the Vintage WIDE seats.
Does anyone have any other options for a driver backrest? Also, does anyone have any comparison pictures of the Vintage solo vs the vintage wide solo? I dont know how wide that is going to be or if it would look ok on the street bob. Thanks for the help.
mustang and others, sell a rider backrest kit, look in fleabay, they run about the $200s, you may get lucky, I got mine for $140 shipped.
make sure you read the small print, you want the bracket and the backrest pad, some sell one separate from the other and give the misleading that the price is for both, be carefull.
Read an article in one of the mags where they moded the deachable side rails so the back rest was positioned behind the drivers seat. Pretty cool idea since you keep your solo seat. Thinking of doing something similar this winter.
Protac Driver Backrest (Its actually for a softail, I just mounted the brackets upside down and modified the bars on the riser a little bit, drilled out the bottoms (whiich is now the top) and mounted it on my Dyna. I even added set screws so it couldnt be stolen easily or shift adjustment http://protac.net/page7/page3/harley.html
