I've been wondering the reason behind the tread looking off on wider front tires too, but its how they all seem to be. Guess there is prolly a good reason for it.
If you look at the tread the centr of the tire out where it contacts the road as it rolls round it actually channels the water to the side and back as the tire rolls forward
Had to spread the fender struts apart , not sure about all the other dynas but on the street bob the fender struts are narrower at the rear of the fender then they are at the front.

So basically it wouldn't be an issue to put a 200 under a new Wide Glide or Fat bob either, just a rear wheel swap with a new tire?

it's not just wide tires..mines a 110 Avon..
On the back tire I can see that but the front tire is mounted in the opposite direction and would seem to channel water into the center of the tire. I am not saying this is wrong. It is how most bikes are with a fat front tire are. I even went to the Harley site and looked at the Sporty Forty Eight and the front and rear tires have the treads going in opposite directions. My SB with the stock Harley mounted tires has the treads going in the same driection in the front and rear. Just wondering?
