Default Dyna stereo

Ok, I know there has to be more threads on here about this but I honestly didnt see what I was looking for.

I want some sort of detachable stereo for long trips with the wife. I've tried JRK's fork bag stereo and, while its a great product and well made, its just not loud enough for highway speeds especially without a shield.

I remember harley had a unit that attached to the bars but I cant find anything about it. The one I'm looking for (or something like it) is a one piece integrated unit. I dont want speakers attached to each side of the bars or anything crazy just a single unit that can attach and detach as needed.

Does anyone have any experience with this HD radio unit or anything else that could work? thanks.

Yeah, I've seen those and others like them. I'm just not into the whole speakers Mickey Mouse ears look. I know I've seen one as a single unit that clamps on the bars in the middle but I cant find anything online and dont know how usable they are at speed without a shield.

Even touring bikes sound like hell at highway speeds... Just something to consider while you're looking for a kick *** stereo with out a windshield.

Yeah, thats what I'm finding out. I think the best bet is to stick with the earbuds or maybe get some custom molds. I like your setup with the quasi bagger look. I've been looking into the tsukayu fairing and tour pack setup with the integrated audio system. If they could install that without adding hardware to the bike I'd go that route but its pretty pricey.

Oh well, I love riding the bike stripped down and thats how I do it 99% of the time. Just thinking about long trips with the wife.

Well my Pyle speakers aren't the best either, but they work well enough. In order to hear it on the highway I have to have the base turned pretty far down and the highs/mids up high. That's pretty much all you can hear at highway speeds. It serves the purpose... I can jam while I ride but if there's one thing I've learned trying out a few speaker systems is that if your expectations are too high you'll be disappointed as hell. You have to go in to it knowing that it won't sound like you're riding around in the car/truck (not saying you believe that but I think a lot of people expect it to be something close).

Could install some headphones into a 3/4 helmet. Been thinking of trying that out, see if it works.
