Default Freaking Dealership

Not being able to ride mybike because of the shitty weather and my plugged tires I went to the HD stealership where I bought my bike w/a plugged rear tire to vent. Also to get their quote on 2 Metzler ME880
tires and labor

wth?? they quoted me 2.5hrs labor to change my tires, that's over $250 at $109/hr...the lines they fed me wer

-"well they need to but the bike on a lift". Really I thought they would make the bike float.

-"they need to take the belt on and off". wow

-"the front tire alone takes 1 hour". Anyone want to challenge them in a pit crew race?

-"if you don't believe us, go sit next to the machanic while he's working on your bike" Ok i said I will do that, "oh no we don't allow customers in the work area"

I gave them a quote for metzler tires from motorcycle super store..."wait till you see the delivery fees". I tell them shipping is free, they stutter..."really, are you really sure about that"

Meanwhile the indy shop that Toastman referred me to, quoted me 1hr labor just a bitover $100 and I can bring them the tires if I don't agree w/their price.

NYdyna....
The motorcycle super store also has a tire installer locator....
Find a shop near you that will not charge as much as HD dealer....MCS store will ship your tires to the installer ya pick....
I do this and they send them to the Ducati dealer....Both tires mounted for $95...and get this, the ducati shop is owned by the HD dealer, their in opposite end of the building....$250 at one end for mounting and $95 at the other, Ducati end takes about an hr for both..HD dealer takes half a day if your lucky....

Not the one I was thinking of, but I do know which one you are talking about.....lol Seems like too many of them act the same way....I guess they really don't want our business......Luckily we do have a lot of good Indy shops on the island......

I take mine off with spoons, and put the new ones back on. Then take them down to the ricer shop for balancing, about $40
