Just picked up a 2003 WG (see pic below)and want to put a bobber style fender on it. All I'm finding is a kit for 06 and later. I attached the 06 one for reference, if I did it right.
Does anyone know where I can find one? I assume this one won't fit an 03 WG because the struts are wider due to tire size.
That's what I'm thinking Robbie. I don't want to cut this one for a couple reason: 1. It swoops and where I would cut, it wouldn't give the right shape. 2. It's the 100th Anny and I want to keep the fenders and tank to put away.
Am i f'ed up in this thinking? Does 100th Anny mean it's going to be worth more later?
I'm gonna git'er done one way or another it just depends on how.

Dingo,
Mines an 03 and has swooped fender....don't think i can chop it and get desired effect....i'm not in a big hurry anyway....i'll prob do it next winter. Thx for the comments
Rod, don't blame you for wanting to keep your stock fender. Better safe than sorry. You can always put it back on if you need or want to. I think you are right with your fender. I think it swoops up before it gets to the point you want to cut it. Measure the distance in between your struts and find your fender that way. You can also find fender "blanks" with no mounting holes and the sides not cut yet to custom fit it. If you go that route you can save your original fender. Just an idea.
That's definitely what I'm going to have to do Robbie. I plan on doing it later this year when I put blinkers on. I gotta put em on because I'm moving to Florida so I might as well do it all at once. No helmet state but it says you gotta have blinkers. You're exactly right about the swoop in the fender by the way.
I don't have shop space (live on post)and I'm trying to minimize down time since I drive it everyday that's why I was looking at the prefab stuff.
