I have the accel 2" wrap on now but this stuff is so thick. Not easy to work with and just doesn't lay right. I've heard the Moose Racing stuff is the best but wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Could get expensive trying all of them.
Thanks in advance!
Lava Wrap is the superior choice for your heat shielding needs. Made from crushed volcanic rock, Lava Wrap not only has a sleek look similar to carbon fiber, but is also twice as durable. Exhaust wraps help to retain heat in your exhaust system, which increases horsepower while reducing radiant heat damage. By wrapping the header and exhaust system it maintains hotter exhaust gases, decreases the density, and allows the exhaust gas to exit the system faster! Greater exhaust scavenging is produced and lowers intake temperatures: that equals more horsepower. Exhaust wrap can be fastened with Thermal-Tie, hose clamps, or wire."
It's 1/16th thick. I got a buddy to hold the pipes while I wrapped then, it helps.
DEI titanium is awesome. It's so soft it doesn't have to be wet to wrap. Only thing is it only comes in one color which is kinda green/brown. I suppose you could paint it , but then it wouldn't be soft anymore. heres a pic of the color.
Yup the titanium wrap is the way to go. I had the cheaper wrap that was kind of a loose weave and it frays after a couple years and looks like crap. My buddy had the titanium and his looks real nice and tight against the pipes.
