The more ground electrodes you have blocking the fuel molecules from entering the spark gap the less efficient (large) and consistent (timing) the initial flame kernel will be. A single electrode is what every OEM manufacturer uses and they are fighting for the most complete burn with the least amount of fuel. They would use more electrodes if it helped.
