Well that has to be the dumbest response to anything ever. So much for going to the source to get an answer. Honestly I still don't think it's a problem, my bike still runs better then it did with stockers and I'm leaving it that way. Anyways here's the response I got from delphi!!!
"Thank you for contacting delphi.com.
You will want to contact the Harley-Davidson dealership for further assistance. If Delphi manufactured the ignition system, they built it to Harley-Davidson specifications.
Well I ran the E3's for a couple weeks and changed them out for Harley Platinums the other day. Didn't have a lot of trouble with the E3 but seemed my scoot didn't start as well. With the Harley Platinum's it seems to start easier than even the stockers and has a crisper throttle response. Would definately recommend the Harley Platinum's.
Here is the part number for the NGK iridiums for the Twins Cams!!!
DCPR7EIX
I'm running the 8EIX's in my TC, the iridiums allow you to run a slightlty cooler plug without risk of fouling. Not a great deal of difference to the running but the motor starts up better & the colour of the plugs is nicer now after a few long runs than with the O/E ones - in fact they're pretty near perfect. It used to spin over a few times before the motor "caught" but now it fires up as soon as I hit the start button - and less choke is required. And, before anyone asks the O/E plugs that they replaced had only done about 1500 miles and were gen Harley items (Champion). The bike is a 1450 2002 FXDL with a Stage 1
There was HUGE thread about these iridium plugs recently and general consensus was that they're a waste of money, but I liked the theory behind them so thought I'd give them a try. They've not set the the world alight in some magnificent revelation of wonderfulness as claimed by some users, but yes they have undoubtably made a difference to the way the bike starts and as I say the plug colour (now a lovely light biscuity / brown compared to the O/E which were always black around the outside although the centre was ok) is improved which makes me happy. Plus, I got them for not much more than a new set of originals would have cost so a good move all round really. I'll def be staying with them now.

I think the only people that get that kind of benefit from different plugs are swapping some old busted 5000 mile old plugs for shiny new ones. Instead of the obvious, that they had old tired plugs replaced by new ones, they say that the new brand is superior cos the bike runs better now .

My Indy uses regular HD plugs on my bike. I've had the SE plugs and others, but he says he gets the best heat range out of the stock plugs. He dyno's my bike and shows me the different colors on the plug as well.
I have installed E3 spark plugs about a week ago. The effect, was that it seem to burn more of the available fuel, resulted in increased combustion efficiency and more power at the low end. This lasted about a week. I purchase them for easy starts. The bike seem to start harder now then it did the first week. Seems I have to choke valve more then I did before. I mitt tried a different plug.
I read this thread and went out and bought a set of iridiums to replace my 900 mile old NGKs and they do everything I expected of them...better starting, crisper at low revs and just all round better...I am a convert now!
