Default Shifting Problems

I just installed a new HD front foot controlls on my 09 FXD so last Saturday I was running it hard with a lot of stop and go when I started having trouble shifting the gears. Only thing I thought may be the cause was the high engine heat maybe ? After it cooled down for about 30min. everything worked fine all the way home. Wil they do that sometimes when they get hot ? There was a new lever that came with the fowards kit i didn't use because it looked just like the one that was on it (the one behind the primary cover)what do you guys think ?

Besides a possible Stage 1 upgrade, is the engine stock? Have you run it that hard before without a problem? Did you smell a burnt clutch when you stopped?

The lever that came with the forwards is longer than the lever that is for mids.

Stock engine and never done it before. No clutch smell but Maybe I do need to check the clutch adjustment ? I have 4,200 miles on it. maybe I should put that lever on also, I just thought they were the same

+1 on the clutch adjustment, not just the cable! Also, you may want to adjust your shift pawl, escpecially if youre having troubles only when up-shifting, or vice versa (downshifting). Need more info besides "hard to shift" ......
