Brand new FXDB Street Bob today. Shakes worse than my old 1978 FXWG. Both my 07 sporty and recently sold 103 cu in Street Glide were a lot smoother - like you could see a bird on a fence post in the mirrors.
The new Street Bob you can tell if it's a Grayhound or a VW behind in the mirrors but thats about it. Vibs in the seat my Ol' lady would love but not good over 50 miles or so with me riding = monkey butt.
Any one had a similar prob?? What did you do about it?
Thanks
Search for adjusting the front motor mount, it requires some washers or shims of some sort, but I have a friend who did it and said it made a hell of a difference. Worth a shot and not to difficult.
I'm sure there will be plenty of suggestions, good luck
Return to the dealer, sounds like motor mounts need torquing, usually at the 1000 mile service they go over all the engine mounts and other areas and retorque to spec.
It's brand new. Asked dealership about it, they didn't have a clue - 1 good mechanic (very busy), 2) 14 year old boys and one new worker. Will take it back if I can't fix it but I got good hands & tools.
1000 miles is too long to wait. Would have ***** the size of grapefruits and roids strung out 50 feet behind the scoot. Got tools and a place, just never had to adjust a 96 cu in vibrator brfore. Will be on it this weekend. will post results. Keep the suggestions coming.
Blue, you got a different kind of monkey butt than me or some kick-*** salve. Nice pic, your's is faster than mine, but if it shook like this you'd have used the ejection seat cause it would be coming unflanged around you.
