Someone posted a smoked tail light recently that was almost flush with the fender. Damned if I can find it now.

Was it the Kury "low profile" smoked layback led light maybe?

This one?

I tried to confirm fitment with them and they never helped out with confirmation. If you have better luck or buy it, be sure to post results and pics. I want one for my 06 Streetbob in Vivid Black. I think it would look good on the gloss black.

Thumbs up

No doubt there are plenty of inventive solutions out there, but I think the OP was looking for a bolt-on replacement. The Kury 4959 is just that, plug and play. It sticks out about half as far as the stock light and really cleans up the a$$ end of a FB. It would probably be a big improvement over a stock SB as well.

Sorry jshull, I don't have the wiring diagram in front of me, but it is basically plug and play with the factory harness. My best guess would be a 3 wire connector.

If we can confirm that these will fit the fender properly on the 06 Street Bob and your bike I will buy one too.. Keep me posted as I have been itching to try this taillight. Lets figure this out. PM me if you want for details, and we can work through verifying fitments. I believe the Hogryda laydown plate bracket will compliment this taillight perfectly.

Oh yeah, I will have a Smoked Kuryakyn Led Lo Pro for sale if I buy this so, PM me for interest. I will sell it for half price (whatever that is) once I get this new one.

Have you looked at the D2Moto LED taillight? I just put one on my bike a week ago $50. Not a bad light and it has a very low profile lens with built in turn signals. Installation was quick. The only issue I had with it was that it had no wiring instructions but I figured it out in a couple of minutes. I will be posting up some pics and review in a couple of days as I am finishing up some other minor mods.
