New Super Glide Custom owner here. I purchased the bike on March 26 and accepted delivery on April 1. Had a back rest and windscreen added as well as a set of V&H Staggered Big Shots along with the air intake and EFI map patch for air/fuel ratio. The mapping will be confirmed on a dyno once the break in period is over.

Its been long time since owning a bike. First bike was a little two stroke Yamaha 100 that I had in 1971. I owned a 73 Yamaha TX 500 in the late 70’s while in college. It was a real beater that was not in good condition when purchased but was reliable.

Needless to say that this is a huge jump in bikes from 30 something years ago. I was ready to purchase a bike about 10 years ago from a friend of the family, but he had a wreck and I decided that that was not the time. Finally, as an empty nester I decided to pull the trigger.

As info, I am headed to the local Rider’s Edge classes this weekend just to get a feel for riding again under a watchful eye and in a controlled space. I spend 1800-2000 miles annually on human powered cycles so I have a great sense of balance; just not the power. I think the RE class will be a great investment in time.

I did take the bike out after delivery and both weekend days. I have to say that the Dyna has a lot more torque than I was expecting and my feel for the clutch; well needs some more experience. Fortunately, I live in an area near Houston where I can get out on new streets with no traffic and practice skills. Again, not the preferred way of riding then taking class… I am a lot more comfortable on the bike today than I was last Friday.

Nice, post pics whe you can. Yes, just weight and power is the big thing to get used to, along with the center of gravity.

You'll feel better each and every time you get on it. Even quick short little rides are good.

Enjoy!
