Don't know what the code is but, it's possible your main circuit breaker is tripping due to age. Not that expensive, it's behind the fuse panel behind the electrical cover on the left side of the bike.

Mine did the same thing but never threw a code. I ended up changing the crank position sensor and that took care of it.

Take your battery to NAPA or other parts store and have them check to see if it's holding a charge.

Also double check both ends of your battery cables. Don't just check the bolts, tug on the wires. They could be corroded under the insulation and just barely making contact.

if your keychain is heavy it can cause ignition lock damaging, check it too

Default Bike Cuts Off

Don't know for sure, but my 2006 Heritage Softail had a problem with the "System Relay" which supplies power to the fuel pump. A $5.00 part and mine was a small grey colored box on the fuse block. If fuel injected, I would replace this and see if it fixes your problem.

It's only $5.00. I am going to start carrying a spare for me or the next guy I see with this problem.

hey flip, i had a '03 fxdx that did the same kind of thing. i can't remember the code it was throwing, but the behavior was definitely the same. ended up being a corroded battery cable. easy fix.
