Help! 2000 wide glide engine died.
Hi all,
My 2000 wide glide engine died on me Saturday. I was riding at about 35 miles an hour in town and there was a loud rattle (louder than my pipes) for about 2-3 sec then my engine died. I coasted to a stop and the engine would not turn over. I had to tow it to my friend's house.
He is going to look at it, but he is on vacation for the next week. The bike had zero performance issues and it this situation came out of the blue for me.
The bike has 20,000 miles on it. I am obsessive about maintenance.
Any ideas?!?

The cam chain tensioners are my suspicion, but I am not going to open it up until my buddy is back. He is the expert and I want him to be able to see everything fresh without me mucking about in it
If it my cams have gone south what sort of engine damage could I be looking out (outside of replacing the cams).
This is driving me nuts and I won't have any real answers until next monday.
