Default Wind Sucks! Windshield Time?

Guys, I have had my bike for a month now. Logged 1,000 miles. I have found out wind SUCKS! Its cold, noisy and just plan SUCKS! Ok, so I use a 1/2 helmet not a full cause I felt I could not see anything in the one I tried also was hard to hear anything around me. Anyway I dont like windshields unless its on a bagger. How do you guys deal with the wind? Today I used some ear plugs and a bandanna. It was actually really nice and fun to ride today. I even jumped on the highway and was doing 70-75 and it was a blast. I do have a 33 mile drive into work that I can use the highway or scenic way. What do you guys do? Should I just put a shield on and be done with it? Im 27 and stubborn. My Dad said he will never ride without one. Maybe I should just get a bagger? Anyone want to trade?

I hate the looks of a windshield too (except on baggers)

Rather than my eyes burning (contacts)and hurting I ruined the look of my bike by putting a shield on...(and by having to put a reach seat on) (ya gotta do , what ya gotta do)

Its a detachable which tho, so i can take it off when i want to

Ive gotten used to it and it doesnt bother me as much as it did at first, but ive found myself spoiled now With it on...

It makes for a much more pleasant ride and my eyes feel Sooooooooo much better

Ive thought about getting a different bike (bagger) but just cant bring myself to part with my fatboy

Get a detachable and see if that helps ya...

i use a windshield on long trips. i have also found that i can hear more with a full face then with my 1/2 helmet, after a long ride with the 1/2 helmet the wind has made me deaf. i know i will hear back about this one but don't get a bagger your only 27. LOL.

I use the factory detachable shield that hd sells for the Rocker. It's smaller and curved so to mee it goes better with the bike. I also don't experience any buffeting which the regular shield is notorious for. Harley's wind tunnel design must consist of a guy sitting on the bike with a floor fan in front of him. The smaller shield gets the wind blast off my chest and relieves the pressure on my arms. For long distance I do use a full face though and it is less fatigue and I always use earplugs for any ride over 10 min. I can ride all day with ear plugs in and not get worn out.

Ear plugs and Goggles...total cost 7.50

I also wear a half helmet with a bandana underneath.

I have a quick release HD shield that I never use unless i am going on a long road trip.

054...

Thanks for the replies everyone! LOL I would take a Street Glide over my Wide Glide any day and yeah I am 27! Just love the clean low look of those bikes and you can get away with the bags and shield on them! Today was the first time I tried the ear plugs, at first it almost threw my balance off some! Weird huh? I know bikes are all feel and when you cant hear it really threw me for a loop. But a few miles in and it was sure nice not to have the wind noise! When I got home after 55 miles and pulled them out of my ears my bike was still running and DAMN it was loud LOL! Thanks again guys for the help and letting me know Im not the only one who thinks this way!

Look at the Shoei RF1100 full face helmet.
Love mine. Only use it in bad weather to keep the rain and ice off my face.
Mostly use a half helmet with giant snoopy googles.
Wind is a wonderful thing.

I've never ridden a bike with a windshield so I dont know any different. I think a windshield would just kill the look of my bike.. I have been eyeballin the new Roadglide Custom.. Pretty sweet.
