I am going to do internal wiring on my bars this winter. Have had lots of different feedback on the wisdom of doing this with stock bars (possibly weakening them). I am looking into aftermarket bars - but having an '06 lowrider, the mounting is a little different and I'm not positive if I can find what I am looking for.

I also really like the look of "t bars" - but here is the problem... the '06 lowrider has the idiot lights in a cast housing that is part of the upper clamp on the bars.

So - the big question - has anyone found a way to relocate the idiot lights if converting to a "t-bar"? Can you buy any housings that will accept the stock idiot lights? I haven't been able to find anything in my preliminary searches.

I have a set of Wild 1's WO 560's on my '04 FXD and mounted the idiot lights right on the T-bars. Here are a couple of photos. It may not solve your problem, but my speedo was handlebar mounted anyway and the stock gauge mount had holes for the idiot lights. You may be able to rig something up. Do your idiot lights mount to the upper portion of the handlebar clamp? I'd definitely go with a set of aftermarket bars that are pre-drilled for internals, they look better and are already set up for your wiring project.
