i'm new here but not to riding....i'm 32 years old and i have a huge problem
i went on an impulse buy and bought a set of 1 1/2 carlini bars for my 2006 dyna superglide.....i am gonna run the wires internally and all that but my problem lies in the area of the indicator lights......the speedometer is easly attached to the bars with several different brackets to choose from....however....AND DON'T ASK ME WHY HD DID THIS.... i can't find a single bracket or replacement for the indicator lights anywhere.....
on the fxd35 they are in the clamps and on the dynabob they are different too.....on my superglide they are located in the black mount that holds the speedo.....when i change to the carlini bars i have options to mount the speedo and NONE of them include the indicator light bar....
has anyone ran into this problem?.....how did you guys go about fixing it?......CAN IT BE LEFT UNPLUGGED?.....i dont think i really need it to be honest.....but it would be nice to have one if its available.....
i know dakota digital has several options but i hate to spend 500+ dollars after spending this much on the bars...
any help or links would be greatly appreciated....
Perhaps check the Lowrider setup. Not sure which years, but some of them have an indicator light"box" that mounts to front of the risers. Maybe an option for you with a little modification?
I'm pretty sure I've seen some aftermarket mounts that will hold the lights too. I need to check up on these bars first and if I can think of something else that might work with these bars, I'll toss it in here later.

Hummm...... Which set of Carlini bars did you get? I too have an 06 Dyna and it made finding a set of bars that I could use fairly difficult with the bar mounted speedo and instrument lights.
If this would help, it is a bracket made by Accutronix and will allow you to keep your basic lights and single/dual gauge mount while using the T-bars:
I bought mine for a set of 1 1/4" Chubby bars. The Accutronix website shows the same adapter (in the handlebar section) as part G103 for 1.5" T-bars. Check it out.
i bought the carlini clean sweeps .....they have 9 inch rise and 8 inch pullback.....
i went with these because my dad had them on his wideglide and i loved the curve look.....i didn't realize until i got home i was gonna have this much trouble installing them.....
As far as I know, and I would like someone to correct me, there is only one way to do this. The bracket and integrated clamp you have happened first in 05. There is no way this can work with Carlinis as you already know. Buy a speedo bracket from an 04 or later. The chrome one is $95. Then you need a clamp for 1 1/4 t bars that will accept this new bracket. Probably $75 (guess). Then you can screw your new bracket to the clamp. Not really ideal.
Looking at the schematic, it appears that unhooking the idiot lights will cause no issues, you just won't have them any more. They are not critical to any other functions. Personally I can't go without at least the oil press indicator, and neutral indiator would be nice too.
Good Luck - I'm going blind looking for a solution to this issue - maybe you can find something?
With those bars,... youcan probably use theaccutronix mount that DGlide04 mentioned. Just get the one for your dia. of bars. Also then just get one of the HD gauge clamps and speedo mounts with indicator light holes and it should all work.
well i have been riding/racing motorcycles for over 15 years so the neutral light and stuff isn't really that big of a deal to me....i guess if it comes down to it i could leave them unplugged if it isn't going to cause a problem.....as for the oil pressure i guess i could buy one of those that bolts to the rocker cover......man i am at wits end.......i hate to totally unhook it and jack up a good bike by doing it half ***......but i really love these bars.....lol
i guess i'm gonna end up with a mini-speedo mounted underneath and just disconnect the light bar......i even thought of dremeling out between the gas cap and the fuel gauge.....if the wires would reach........
so much for impulse buying.....lol
i'll try to contact accutronix tomm and see if they have a solution....surely someone besides me has had this issue
Depending on your cash flow and what you're looking to do with the bars, you could consider a single tach/speedo/idiot light combo units. They're availabale from Wire Plus (wire-plus.com) and Dakota Digital (dakotadigital.com), but they're not cheap. Both have various brackets that will mount them to a 1.5" T-bar set up.
