I am about to purchase a pair of 15" Apes for my Street Bob. Along with some powder coated parts, air cleaner, and custom pipes... that will leave my budget at about... $0? lol! So without being able to afford forward controls anytime soon, I would want to know if anyone runs Apes with mid controls or/and has pics so I can get an idea of what that combo looks like. It might sound weird, but I have NEVER seen a bike with ape hangers (aside from mini apes) and mid controls... it's like Big handlebars and stretched feet go hand in hand. I would get HW pegs, and probly will, but the majority of the time I'm in-city and doing alot of shifting. Any pics or ideas about Apes and mid controls would be appreciated, ty!
I run mids and I was running 18" apes. But I had to remove them and put on some smaller 10" because the 18's were braking. I used to have forwards too but I find it more comfortable with the mids and ape. That's just me though. I dont think I have a pic of my mids and tall ape combo though, sorry.
I'm running mids with 16 inch apes on my Street Bob and it suits me just great. I can lean back on the seat and get very comfortable. It's a good combination for me but everyone is different.
I'm planning on making the same upgrade. I've got the stock mid controls, HW pegs and the Mini Apes on my '11 SB. Feels comfy when I'm tooling around town or jumping on interstate for a 4 hour ride. BUT....being 6'2" I have to slide my butt all the way back on the seat (to where I'm nearly sitting on the fender) or else it feels like riding with the drag bars I had on my Triumph Bonnie all over again. So for sure I'd like to get something a little bit taller too.
Every time I click on SPERO56's pic link it won't let me access it, but from the look of his avatar thats exactly what I'm wanting to go with.
Be sure to post updates and pics BravoFire. I'm super pumped to see this come along!
