Dyna or FXR-I Should Mind My Own Business
This add showed up Saturday morning in the Road Glide section of EBay:

Well any FXR add interests me so I openend it only to see a Dyna in the photo.
Thought I'd be a nice guy to the Yamaha dealer selling it so I dropped him a note to say that he really should post the bike as a Dyna, not an FXR. I added that except for a couple of custom year models in '99, the FXR was built from '82-'94.
Got a note back thanking me for helping out and that sure enough, the bike should be listed as an FXR 2 (!) The salesman further tells me that he double checked NADA to verify.
Now I'm interested. I write back specifying the tell-tale differences in the bikes, the engine differences, ( there were no 96" FXR's,) the primary is different, the frame is different, etc, etc.
Got back another reply. Thanked me again, and sure enough I was right, and the problem was that they posted the wrong pic for the bike and that they'd take care of it.
So I guess if anyone wants a 'like new' 2011 FXR 2 with 2,000 miles on it, Surdyke Yamaha can set you right up.
I should learn to mind my own business....

I bought my (barely) used 2007 FXD last year from a Harley dealer and they listed it as an FXR. It was a good sized (now under new name and ownership) dealership in central Oregon. I guess good ad help is hard to find, but they were great people to deal with. The mislisting didn't matter to me.
