Default Oil Drip

Hey all, I have noticed after a long ride on my '99 fxdwg that there will be a small accumulation of oil where my K&N filter meets my super shorty carb...is this normal? No drips, just smears down the side where it has run out and been blown by the wind..thanks

It's called blowby... head vents to the carb. There is a fix.. vent to atmosphere..

Yes, its normal. Increases slightly with engine age. Will also increase with oil level, never fill higher than 1/2 way on the dipstick, don't be tempted to top it off.

If it is a pain and is ruining your pants then look into a 'breather kit' to take the output of the head ports to a catch-can or into a filter or down onto the road instead of into the carb.
