I like the Switchback alot. The Factory has finally put together a bike that I would buy. I haven't really been in love with anything Harley has made since the'85 FX series bikes.

Anyone remember the FLHS? It was a stripped down FLH model that Harley sold for only a couple of years in the early '80s. I almost bought one in '82 but went with a new FXS (Low Rider) instead. Stripped down FLHs were great looking. On a Road King, you can take of the windshield, but that's about it. Ever seen a Road King without bags? Fugly as hell. And the frame has that ugly neck and top of the down tubes area that doesn't look like the old Duo-Glides. The Switchback is much closer.

I just might get one. The smaller bags are okay with me; I travel light regardless the mode of transport. And, yes, with the quick disconnect, I would remove the bags and windshield often. I love the look of a stripped FL and the big-*** front fork.

Great choice, I hope to do the same real soon.
I need to find out which stock 2 into 2 header pipes will fit the FLD.
Cycle Shack Slip-Ons with stock Dyna headers would work for me.

Thumbs up I have owned one now for 2 weeks...

It is an awesome bike quite nimble and a great ride! Yes the bags are smaller but they fit for the overall size of the bike. I also own a RKC and for mega trips which for me is 800 miles plus one way nothing beats the RKC but for everything else the FLD rocks! Going to get my new pipe, seat, crash bar, highway pegs, boom audio and xm radio installed this coming Friday and the Stage 1 and heavy breather also done at that time as well then this bike should be dialed in for my tastes.

Good luck with that, I have never reached that point.

I do, bags are a necessary evil That I pitch to the side any chance I get. The bike looks so much cleaner without them.

I believe that point is like a unicorn.

Take your time checking header pipes before you buy. The O2 sensors are new 4 wire type with a different bung. I have no idea how much this will effect swaps in the future.

I'm betting that the aftermarket is already on this and the solutions will be on the market very soon.

Thanks for the heads up, I never thought about that.
I think the 2012 Street Bob headers should work
on FLD.

Double check them. Since the Street Bob still has the 96" motor, it may still have the old sensors.
